Jac’s Arts & Crafts
Georgetown CHEER Center
- Starts
- Monday, September 14 • 5:30–7:00 p.m.
- Instructor
- Jacqui Bivens
About the class
Jac’s Arts & Crafts is a hands-on, faith-based class for beginners and seasoned crafters to be creative, feel spiritually uplifted, and share laughter, stories, and prayers while enjoying fellowship with other believers.
We will connect Scripture with arts and crafts and reflect on God’s Word. Each week will begin with a new Scripture and an art or craft project inspired by it. You will design inspirational treasures to take home or share. This is a place where you do not have to be perfect—just the person God created you to be. Let’s inspire one another and create beautiful treasures while thanking God for the vision He has given us.

Meet your instructor
Kelly Valeski
Line dancing found Kelly in 1997 at a country music festival, and the moment she stepped onto the floor, she was hooked. The music, movement, and energy of the dance floor sparked something that has never faded.
In 2011, Kelly began teaching beginner classes at a local senior center, and the rest is history. Working with beginners quickly became her true passion. There is nothing more rewarding to her than watching students gain confidence, master steps, feel a sense of accomplishment, and grow into dancers ready for the next level.
Today, she shares her love of dance with all levels at local venues, community events, and fundraisers. Her mission is to create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere where anyone can step onto the floor, shake off the stress of everyday life, build new friendships, and feel the joy that dance brings.

- Instructor
- Gail Braune Comorat
About the class
Example poems will be used as prompts. One prompt begins: “As soon as I could hold a crayon, I wrote poems—one about a bunny who had no tail. I wanted to be an astronaut so I could escape the gravity of childhood. My first crush was on the winter night sky. Sleep was never a friend. Hula hoops and I reached a truce. I have failed at everything—some things more than once, some things a thousand times. This hasn’t stopped me. Coffee is a verb. Poetry is breakfast. I trip over words, especially goodbye.”
