Summer evenings packed with classic rides, a model car show, $5 dinners, and live radio broadcasts coming to Milton and Greenwood.
CHEER is revving its engines for a summer of community fun with two upcoming “Cruise-In” events this June. These events are designed to bring neighbors together for a relaxed evening of great vehicles, good food, and popular music.
The two Cruise-In events will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
• Milton CHEER Cruise-In: Wednesday, June 10. Located just east of town, right on Route 16.
• Greenwood CHEER Cruise=In: Thursday, June 25. Located on US 13 on the northbound side (attendees can turn at the Dollar General or take the access road that runs behind the Royal Farms).
A Relaxed Twist on the Traditional Car Show

CHEER’s annual “Wheels for Meals” car show is taking a temporary break this year due to construction of the Gateway East senior apartments and administrative buildings in Georgetown. The Cruise-In format is entirely informal.
While traditional car shows require registration fees, strict judging, and formal scheduling, the CHEER Cruise-In is completely free. Vehicle owners can simply drop in with their car, truck, or motorcycle, park, and have fun. There is no judging and no pressure, just a wonderful opportunity for anyone with a special ride to show it off.
“This is more for the community to come out on a summer evening, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the rides,” said Beckett Wheatley, CHEER CEO. “It’s nice to meet new people and see old friends! That’s what we do at CHEER.”
Fun for All Ages: Model Car Show, $5 Dinners, and Live Music
The event is open to the entire public, including car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts, as well as families. A special highlight of both evenings will be a Model Car Show, perfect for model car collectors and kids who enjoy seeing miniature replicas of classic vehicles.
Attendees can also enjoy a delicious, budget-friendly dinner. For just $5, guests can grab a meal consisting of a jumbo hot dog, baked beans, chips, and a drink.
Entertainment will be in full swing thanks to live radio remote broadcasts funded by event sponsor Compass HVAC. Listeners and attendees will have the opportunity to meet popular local DJs:
• At the Milton Cruise-In (June 10), Dana McDonald from 97.1 The Wave will be broadcasting live, playing everyone’s favorite oldies.
• At the Greenwood Cruise-In (June 25), Rooster from 101.3 Chicken Country will be broadcasting live, spinning top country hits.
