Shelly Ewell first came to CHEER in 2002 after retiring from the Dupont Company to be a Facilities Helper and transitioned into the maintenance of the CHEER Apartments when CHEER took the task on. Shelly left CHEER for a few brief years when he went to the Lewes Yacht Club to be their maintenance manager.
Shelly returned to CHEER in 2019 as a substitute Food Van Driver for the Nutrition Department. When an opening became available again in Facilities, he was asked to return to working side by side with the Facilties Manager to keep the properties of CHEER in good operating condition. He was instrumental in renovating the addition at CHEER's Long Neck Activity Center. When the COVID pandemic hit, Shelly assisted in every way to help prepare centers according to health regulations so that they could re-open.
Shelly is alays one of the first to be at work. He is a Lifetime and active member of the Georgetown Fire Co. where he serves as Fire Police. CHEER thanks Shelly for all he does to keep its facilities in good working condition.
