MEGAN JORDAN – 6-15-22 –
Kiddos to Megan Jordan for her quick thinking during the recent Older Americans Day celebration at the CHEER Community Center. Megan was manning the front office that day when hundreds of seniors were enjoying a celebration luncheon in the banquet room that was to continue until one o’clock. Weather forecasts for the day were not good, so Megan kept checking reports on her cell phone. Shortly after noontime, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for all of Sussex County. Megan immediately notified the administrators of CHEER who decided to cut the festivities short and send seniors home before the storm struck.
CHEER bus drivers reported later that there were several incidents when their seniors were able to get safely into their homes before the heavy rains and wind came down upon them. Megan’s quick action assured the safety for not only the seniors who were taken home by CHEER buses, but also for the seniors who were able to drive themselves home.
Megan came to CHEER in 2006 as a home health aide eager to help seniors who cannot care for themselves. Her hard work was later rewarded with a promotion to administrative assistant in the PASA office. She has recently been promoted again to the position of Nutrition Administrative Assistant. Thank you Megan for your dedication to CHEER clients.
