CHEER will be recognizing Juneteenth as an official holiday. CHEER will be closed in observance of it on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Juneteenth is a day filled with pride and heritage for many African Americans. It’s the combination of the words June and 19th which marks the day in 1865 when Union Soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas and signified the end of the Civil War and that enslaved people were free.
“Naming Juneteenth as a company holiday is part of our continued commitment to building a foundation of diversity and inclusion,” said Ken Bock, CHEER Chief Executive Officer. “We are taking another step toward advancing this goal by standing with African American employees and communities to take a stance for lasting change around racial justice and equality.”
