CHEER, Inc. is happy to announce its partnership with Marilyn’s Catering, LLC at the Warren L. and Charles C. Allen, Jr. CHEER Community Center in Georgetown. Marilyn’s will be the exclusive caterer for all events at the community center, and beginning October 1, she will operate lunch time food service to the public in the Sand Hill Café at the community center.

Marilyn Hastings of Seaford has been in the catering business for 11 years. She began in the food business in 1986 while working at her parents’ establishment, Smith’s Family Restaurant. Marilyn is very well-known in the area for her home cooking and home-baked desserts. She has catered several events for local fire companies, the Seaford Historical Society, Delmarva Christian School, and the Sussex County Prayer Breakfast. She formerly catered at Wilson’s Auction in Lincoln, and will return to cook this November for carriage participants and law enforcement at the Return Day parade in Georgetown. Marilyn’s staff has proven their capabilities for catering small family gatherings and large public events with attendance of 850 people.

Marilyn will offer an assortment of menus at affordable prices at the CHEER Community Center, but is willing to be flexible with a host’s specific food choices.

Beginning  October 1, the Sand Hill Café will open for lunch time business beginning at 10 a.m. Besides the regular lunch choices of hamburgers and cold sandwiches, Marilyn will offer daily specials with soup, her famous homemade chicken salad and, of course, her delicious desserts. Call-in orders will be accepted. The Café will be open to the public for dining pleasure. More details will be forthcoming.

“CHEER is very excited about being able to offer Marilyn’s delicious food to our guests. Her reputation for home-cooking is known throughout the region,” said Ken Bock, CHEER Chief Executive Officer.
