This week's Hero Award is being presented poshumously to Dave Huselton who passed away on May 28 at the age of 79.
Dave came to CHEER to be the bus driver for the Roxana CHEER Activity Center in 2005. He was approaching his 16th year anniversary with CHEER on June 23rd. He spent his entire tenure with CHEER at the Roxana site. During the pandemic, he performed various other duties such as packing meals for the homebound. He never complained and you could always find him happy and smiling. The seniors were very fond of the man and trusted his leadership.
After working for the 7UP Company in Claymont, Delaware, then being an independent distributor for Thomas English Muffis, Dave and his wife Sharon retired to Sussex County. Locally known as the "Muffin Man," Dave was a quiet person until he began talking about his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. He was very proud of having been to the Super Bowl to see them win the worlk championship.
Thank you, Dave, for your commitment to CHEER. You will always have a place in the hearts of the seniors who rode Bus 47.
