CHEER Hosts Annual Military Honor Day on 9-11
Honoring those who died in the 2001 9-11 terrorists attack, CHEER again hosts a Military Honor Day on Tuesday, Sept. 11 to educate the public about U.S. armed forces. This patriotic event will be held at the Warren L. and Charles C. Allen, Jr. CHEER Community Center, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Route 9, east of Georgetown. Activities take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and admission is free to the public.
Students from area schools are invited to attend and visit the educational displays highlighting historical military events in American history. Students will have the opportunity to meet veterans of American wars and conflicts and share their experiences and memories of the event. There will also be a special memorial service for the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom.
