Lighthouse Nook Is Open
The Lighthouse Nook is open for business at the CHEER Community Center. “We are very pleased to have Lighthouse as our exclusive Caterer and Café operator at the CHEER Community Center,” CHEER Deputy Director Ken Bock said. “Lighthouse serves a great meal and has an excellent reputation. We think they’ll be a nice addition to the services available at the Community Center.”
Owner Paul Buchness has been is the restaurant business for 35 years. “I’m a people person,” he said. “My business is about making people happy and healthy.”
The Lighthouse Nook offers a varied, healthy menu including salads, soups, light fare, sandwiches, burgers, and select breakfast items like French toast. “I love the new fresh food movement,” Paul said. “I’ve been doing it my whole career. We make our own soups, salads, and dressings. We serve wholesome foods. We don’t add sugar and there is very little salt in our menu items. We don’t just heat up already prepared food. We make our own and we put the time in to make it something special.”
Paul and his wife Mary own two other Lighthouse establishments, the Lighthouse Landing at the Georgetown airport and Lighthouse Cove at Delaware Technical & Community College. “We want to be part of the community and we want to be partners with the organizations we serve,” Paul said. “I think the CHEER Community Center sometimes gets overshadowed by all the great things CHEER does for the people of Sussex County. But the Community Center has a fantastic banquet facility and there really aren’t a lot of places like it around here. So we want to partner with CHEER to get the word out there’s a great facility right here in Georgetown for all kinds of events. We are thrilled to be partnering with CHEER and look forward to a long relationship.”
So stop by the Lighthouse Nook at the CHEER Community Center. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm.
